Safeguarding Policy

Safeguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults.

Jesus says in Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

As followers of Jesus, we recognize that God has a special place in his family for children, and we strive to value and protect them in every way possible.

Children and Vulnerable Adults at Risk

Every person is created in God’s image and has inherent worth and dignity. As Christians, we believe this is fully renewed through Christ, and it calls us to honor and respect all people as image-bearers of God by protecting them from harm.

We are committed to creating a safe and caring environment for all who are part of our church community, with particular attention to children, young people, and adults who may be vulnerable. Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and we will take care in selecting, training, and supporting everyone who serves in roles of trust and care.

We will act promptly in response to any concerns or allegations of harm, working openly with the proper authorities in any investigation. We will also hold accountable those who misuse positions of trust and provide pastoral care for anyone who has experienced abuse.

When someone within our community has offended against a child, young person, or vulnerable adult, we will seek to balance compassion with responsibility—offering pastoral care and appropriate support, while also ensuring supervision and cooperation with relevant authorities.
